Weingut Hofbauer-Schmidt Roter Veltliner Alte Reben 2018

The Rote Veltliner (yes, this is a white wine and no, it is not related to the Grüner Veltliner) was ignored for years, but in recent years has developed into a trendy niche product with cult potential.

This Roter Veltliner from mature vines is one of the best and knows how to please. Fresh and complex on the palate, it really makes you smile. Ripe yellow pear and exotic fruits immediately come to mind. A grape variety, which is unfortunately very rare in Austria, enriches the portfolio of the wine country enormously.

An excellent food companion that fits a variety of dishes, but especially poultry. But also for pizza a good choice.
