Markus Huber Winery Grüner Veltliner Obere Steigen 2018

One of the bestsellers of the winemaker of the year, Markus Huber and Shootingstar. Each year, Falstaff and Wine Enthusiast have awarded it high points and it is now among the classics in the Austrian white wine scene.

The location "Obere Steigen" is a sandy-loamy topsoil with lime conglomerate in the subsoil and you can taste it as well as the 25- to 50-year-old vine stems. Only a selection of the best grape material comes into the bottle. In colour, the young 2018 Vintage shows a medium yellow-green. On the nose, a fine typical Veltliner has a touch of white pepper and apple. The same on the palate but very juicy and fresh with intense fruit-acidity. Mineral dominated by the lime soil ends a long finish with a beautiful pear fruit note.
