Description
The white wine varietal Sämling 88 (also called Scheurebe) is rarely found in Austria. This variety has a very exotic aroma and was bred by Georg Scheu in Germany back in 1916 and is still grown there.
This beautiful, young wine is a prime example of the variety and shows that it can also be grown in Styria. Vineyard peaches appear in the nose, which are reflected on the palate with a grape note. There are also some currants and a rather mild acidity. Light, juicy and a bit tangy in the finish. A very fragrant wine! Pairs well with pumpkin dishes, snacks or smoked trout.
Scheurebe Klassik was awarded first place in the 2020 vinaria "Sommerweine".
