Buckwheat grows very quickly, covering the ground and suppressing weeds. It also creates shade. The root system intensively pushes through the soil, significantly improving it. The buckwheat is perfect for use in new garden and lawn areas or following vegetable crops. Buckwheat also provides food for bees in the autumn.

- Freezes in the winter - leaves little superficial material in spring
- Flowers about 5 weeks after germination
