Description

Blaufränkisch Leithaberg DAC 2013 from Weingut St. Zehetbauer is a cheeky, universal food companion. This exclusive late bottling is a typical Blaufränkisch, which is fruity with delicate piquancy. Blaufränkisch Leithaberg DAC 2013 wins awards because Stefan Zehetbauer gives his wines the time they need to mature!

He deliberately withholds limited quantities so that they can develop, bringing them onto the market after they've aged a bit. When we visited the winery, we immediately noticed this wine from the beautiful, warm 2013 vintage. A ready-to-drink, typical Blaufränkisch from Leithaberg in Burgenland, just as it should be. In a limited special bottling, we are bringing this wonderful wine back onto the market exclusively with Stefan Zehetbauer.

The late bottling was allowed to mature in used barriques for 18 months, then rest in steel tanks and since then develop its full potential in the bottle. The result is a round, dry, fruit-focused red wine. Nicely balanced, harmonious and ready to drink. Notes of blackberries and dark chocolate are pleasing on the palate. In the end, a delicate piquancy provides a cheeky counterpoint. The taste remains in the mouth for a long time, but without ever being overwhelming. A great value crowd-pleaser.

A universal food match that's a great addition to any household and almost always fits the occasion. Perfect to drink now, but with storage potential until approx. 2027!
