Description
Saffron is a spice derived from a variety of crocus known as the saffron crocus. It is used as a colouring agent in food and has a refined, delicate aroma that is similar to honey and musk. Its fine flavour is a great complement to fish, poultry, rice and pasta. Saffron can also be used in cakes and other baked goods.
Tip: Saffron is very sensitive to heat and loses its delicate aroma when subjected to high temperatures. Therefore use it in cooking only if the temperature is not too high.
