Lemon basil delights with its very intense and fruity aroma, which is particularly powerful before flowering. This variety should not be cooked.
When planting, the lemon basil prefers humus-free, loose soil and a sunny, sheltered location out of the blazing midday sun. Basil needs a lot of heat when germinating. Since basil is a light germinator, the seeds should not be covered with soil when sowing.
