Description
German packaging: BIO Mangold "Rhubarb Chard"
This chard variety is not only very decorative with its pretty red stems, it also delights with its aromatic taste. The stems can be prepared like asparagus and kohlrabi, while the leaves should be steamed like spinach.
Basically, Swiss chard is easy to grow, but is happiest in a nutrient-rich and humus-rich soil. Make sure to rake the soil regularly during the growing season and to water it well during dry phases. This promotes growth and yield and ensures delicate stems and leaves. Swiss chard can hibernate in favorable locations and also tolerates light to medium frosts.
Our tip: If you only cut off the outer stems, they will grow again and you can harvest the chard several times.
