Description
Zaatar (also spelled Za'tar, Za'atar or Zahtar) is a traditional blend of spices that is widespread in North African and Arabic cuisine.
Stay Spiced! has created its own Zaatar blend which contains typical ingredients such as sesame, sumac and salt. These ensure an aromatic fresh taste, while thyme and oregano add herbal notes.
Tips for usage:
- Classic use: mix the spice blend with olive oil. Spread it on flatbreads or pita bread and bake briefly in the oven.
- You can also use the Zaatar olive oil paste as a quick dip for bread or vegetables.
- It is suitable as a spice paste or marinade for meat, fish, poultry and vegetables.
