Smoking dust is fine wood dust that is used to smoke food. The unique aroma of the wood type is transferred to the food being smoked. Vulkanland Hulz uses untreated Styrian beechwood to make this smoking dust which is ideal for cold smoking in a smoking chamber or smoker. Cold smoking allows foods such as fish, meat, cheese, ham and sausage to be preserved for longer. It is also often used for warm and hot smoking, where the focus is on the aroma.
