Description
Uhudler is becoming more and more popular. The Isabella grape varietal is grown almost exclusively in Austria, in southern Burgenland, and has previously often been referred to as Heckenklescher (hedge wine) due to its high acidity.
This fragrant sparkling wine with added carbonic acid tastes of forest berries and currants. It's fruity with around 30g of residual sugar, which buffers the acidity. The fruity note is clearly underlined, and it's balanced on the palate with a harmonious finish. This Frizzabella, as the Koch family call it, has only 10.5% ABV and is perfect as a light, refreshing aperitif in summer. It's also lovely with strawberry-based desserts.
